John is known for many things...the youngest disciple; a "son of thunder;" the self-proclaimed disciple whom Jesus loved; part of the "inner circle" of three along with his brother James and Simon Peter; the one who sat next to Jesus during the Lord's Supper; the first disciple to the empty tomb; the last disciple to die; the writer of the gospel of John along with 1st-2nd-and 3rd John and the book of the Revelation...and the list could go on an on. But this Sunday we'll focus our attention on the lessons we can learn from his example in being present when others weren't...in the very presence of enemies of the gospel. Come and join us...This Sunday, 10:30 a.m.

In 2012 we're going to "follow His lead" in all our endeavors. Do we know exactly where that will lead us? No. But it's in the journey that we find the excitement, because it means we're not going to play God or try to lead Him, we're going to follow Him. It means we're not going to set the agenda or follow a set of programs, we're going to respond to His leading, and accomplish His agenda...in His time...for His glory. Following Him wherever He leads, whenever He directs, and for whatever purpose He He desires. It will be scary sometimes, but it will be exciting. Youre invited to join us, and we hope you will. Following is hard, but following is what He calls us to.

You're invited to participate in all the events and activities of Sunrise Mountain. Our members live all over the valley, but we come together to our worship center and Educational facilities located at 8542 W. Deer Valley Road in Peoria, Arizona, easy driving distance from nearly every location in the Phoenix metroplex. Check here for the regular schedule of events, then bring your family and friends with you and join the excitement...we think you'll be glad you did, and we look forward to seeing you at Sunrise Mountain!

It's here...a new year. It will be a year chock full of new challenges, new decisions, new possibilities...and a new theme, but it is a year we'll be led by our same wonderful Lord. As our theme indicates, we're committing ourselves to following the Lord's leading. And, in doing so, we need to be aware of what it involves...the commitment required, and the challenges we will face.

We know God answers prayer. He has answered ours so many times. We stand ready to pray with you, pray for you, and be of help to you in any way we can be of service. Our dedicated prayer warriors look forward to it, and we know God is faithful in answering the fervent prayers of righteous people.
