............................

This Sunday Pastor Mike will be presenting a message entitled, "Faces At the Cross," where we'll examine how the crowd surrounding the cross was very similar to the crowd who will be present in this Sunday's worship.

    • No, none of us will be dressing up in Roman soldiers' outfits.

    • No, none of us will be wearing Pharisees' robes.

    • But there are some remarkable similarities in the life experiences and what was "driving" the persons at the cross and the life experiences and drives present in our own lives.

So, this week we're actually looking at TWO CHAT QUESTIONS...focusing on what makes us similar to, and what makes us unique from those around us.

  • Understand, THERE ARE NO WRONG ANSWERS...they're simply YOUR answers, based upon your own unique perspective and unique set of life experiences.

  • TO REGISTER YOUR ANSWER, SIMPLY RESPOND IN THE "ADD COMMENTS" SECTION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

    • All comments will be "filtered" through our webmaster's "positive filter" to avoid any "slamming" or to keep folks from hacking in to the website and making derogatory remarks about your remarks, etc.

    • But as soon as your comments have been entered at the webmaster "okays" them for publication, you'll see them appearing on the website, just as you sent them in.

    • Give it a try! -- It'll be fun!

HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S CHAT QUESTIONS:

  • 1) What makes you "unique"?

    • In other words, what is unusual about you, as compared to other people's experiences, interests, tastes, or skills?

      • For example...

        • Maybe you're an only child.
        • Maybe you're a sextuplet.
        • Maybe you have an unusual collection of some kind.
        • Maybe you have an unusual hobby.
        • Maybe you have a tattoo.
        • Maybe you met your husband or wife at the tattoo parlor.
        • Maybe you were at Pearl Harbor.
        • Maybe you wear a pearl ear stud.
        • Maybe you've been pearl diving.
        • Maybe you're a fan of Pearl Jam.
        • Maybe you're a sky diver.
        • Maybe you're a lousy driver.
        • Maybe you have perfect pitch.
        • Maybe you can't carry a tune in a bucket.
        • Maybe you can forecast a storm front by your arthritis flaring up ahead of time.
        • Maybe you have arthritis in your nose or only on your "ring toe."
        • Maybe you've lived in twenty states.
        • Maybe you continually live in a state of confusion.
        • Maybe you actually like broccoli.
        • Maybe your skin is the color of broccoli.
        • Maybe your favorite cologne is broccoli.
        • Maybe you think your spouse is sneaking broccoli into everything you eat.
        • Maybe you were raised by wolves.
        • Maybe you like the taste of barbecued wolf.
        • Maybe you like a really rare combination at Starbucks.
        • Maybe you would have to be gagged and brought captive to ever be in Starbucks.
        • Maybe you're a fan of the sport of curling.
        • Maybe you really like watching golf on t.v.
        • Maybe you're more into shooting marbles.
        • Maybe you'd like to shoot marbles at the Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, or Arizona Diamondbacks.
        • Maybe you think sports fans have lost their marbles already.

    • You get the idea.

  • 2) In what ways are you similar or what do you have in common with others?

      • For example...

        • Maybe you pay a mortgage.
        • Maybe you're paying rent.
        • Maybe you haven't yet learned to drive a stick shift.
        • Maybe you've worked a "graveyard shift" before.
        • Maybe you think healthcare costs are too high.
        • Maybe you do a lot of shopping at Costco or Walmart, looking for the best deals.
        • Maybe you love your spouse and your kids.
        • Maybe you enjoy air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter.
        • Maybe you believe what the Bible has to say.
        • Maybe you agree that zucchini just tastes like whatever it's cooked in.
        • Maybe you enjoy popcorn and a movie.
        • Maybe you wish the popcorn at the movies only cost what it costs you to pop it at home.

Obviously, what makes you unique might not be any of the things mentioned above...it's something unique.

And maybe what you have in common with others is something not on the list above.

But whatever it is, we invite you this week to tell the other "chatters" about yourself. Let the world know about you as we learn to appreciate our similarities and celebrate our uniqueness.

We look forward to hearing from you.
