I probably picked the wrong time to write this article...
- After the Praise Team's very exciting performance of "God is Good" by Israel Houghton, I'm constantly in a praising mood...and that's all I want to do.
- Praise God!
- I hope I'm able to pass on some good information, or maybe I will just praise God this entire article.
- He is good, and I feel so blessed to be serving God at Sunrise Mountain Baptist Church.
Have you ever felt like you were exactly where God wants you to be?
- You know, that feeling of complete contentment?
- I'm sure glad I have to rely on Him fully.
Lots of great things are happening with the praise and audio teams in the coming months.
- Here is a schedule of events:
-
- Sunday, April 5 -- Easter Musical.
- "Footsteps In the Sand" helps us focus our attention and rejoice in the reality that God is forever with us, ready to strengthen, guide, and comfort us.
-
- Sunday, April 12 -- Easter Sunday.
- Be sure to be present, bring your friends and those who have indicated they would like to sometime come and visit Sunrise Mountain with you.
- We'll celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.
-
- Sunday, April 19 -- "Sunrise At Nite" debuts.
- Pastor Mike and some local Christian musicians will be leading us we praise the Lord by way of music, and Jesse Pennington, our youth minister, will be presenting a Gospel message.
- Our teenagers will be "bringing back alive" their friends to the service, and then sticking around afterwards for a Youth Pizza fellowship.
-
- Saturday, April 25 -- "Guitar Club" begins.
- The Guitar Club will meet each Saturday from April 25 - June 13.
- Pastor Mike will be providing free group guitar lessons.
- There is no minimum or maximum age, but it will be geared toward the novice / beginner player.
- "Graduation" night will be Sunday evening, June 14, as the Guitar Club provides the musical accompaniment at "Sunrise At Nite" that evening.
- You can sign-up by calling the church office at 623-566-0571 or writing "Guitar Club" in the "blank space" of a Connection Card found in the auditorium seat pockets.
-
- Sunday, May 17 -- "Sunrise At Nite" Singspiration.
- We'll be hosting an all-music nights featuring groups, ensembles and soloists both from inside Sunrise Mountain's membership and also from other churches, all designed to worship the Lord by way of music.
-
- Sunday, June 14 -- "Sunrise At Nite" Guitar Praise.
- It will be graduation night of the Guitar Club, as they provide the musical accompaniment we can all sing along to.
- It will be fun, inspirational, and, of course, there'll be some food involved too.
All of these special mornings and evenings will be outstanding opportunities to invite folks to come and worship the Lord through the medium of music.
P. S. -- By now I'm sure you've noticed the piano has been moved from one side of the auditorium to the other.
- When we were getting it tuned, the professional piano tuner suggested we move it away from the window.
John Meschberger is working on having drop down whisper microphones installed in the stage area.
- This modification will greatly increase the sound quality coming from the stage to the congregation as well as the sound from the state to the recording equipment.
- I really thank John for his hard work getting the team of audio/visual folks together.
- everyone is trained, and the schedule is filling out.
Well, I think that I have spoken enough (as the editor graciously bites his tongue), but I must say one more thing...
- Is there any problem, situation, obstacle, or challenge too big for God?
I pray that you will be a blessing and let God bless you through music as you live your daily lives.
- Try listening to 105.5 or 91.3 on your radio all the time.
- It uplifts me.
Praise His name!
